Our impact

Building power for music creators

Six years. Real wins. Real change.

In 2020, Tiffany Red was a working songwriter caught inside the same broken system she’d watched exploit creators for years. Stories of outdated contracts, missing royalties, no transparency and no accountability were pouring in from her peers, and no organization was willing to make enough noise about it. So she built one.

What started as one founder speaking out loudly, publicly and without apology grew into something the industry wasn’t expecting, because creators rallied around it and institutions took notice.

Our relationships were built not by making powerful companies comfortable, but by challenging them to evolve. Six years later, we’re still at it, and the wins keep coming.

The wins

What we’ve won so far

Contracts

We helped creators get their careers back.

In our early years, we went to work directly. We helped more than 10 songwriters and producers exit outdated deals that locked them into terms that no longer served them, often signed before streaming was even the dominant format.

We learned the system, built relationships with decision-makers and fought until people regained their freedom.

Grants & royalties

We put money where it matters.

Our grant programs have provided direct support to working songwriters and producers across multiple rounds, backed by institutional partners and individual donors who believe in our work.

We’ve also helped creators navigate royalty recovery, accessing money that was already owed to them and had been sitting unclaimed.

Industry rules

We’re helping change the rules for everyone.

We advocated for the elimination of Minimum Delivery Requirements in publishing contracts: outdated clauses that bound songwriters and producers to obligations that no longer reflect how music is made or distributed.

We pushed to have BMI members’ window periods clearly visible on their dashboards. That change has been made.

We help lead the conversation on songwriter compensation from recorded music, calling for an up-front song fee and points on the master. Our #PaySongwriters petition has more than 3,000 signatures.

Amplifying creators

We amplified the voices and stories of music creators.

When music creators face high-stakes legal battles, they’re often up against companies with unlimited resources. We’ve been a front-facing public advocate for creators in copyright infringement litigation, amplifying their stories.

We also founded the Safe Music Business Pledge, challenging the industry to create safer, more accountable spaces. The Recording Academy, BMI and others have signed on.

Community

We create spaces with intention.

We build real, in-person experiences for music creators through networking events and panels that bring creators together to collaborate, learn and build community.

These activations grow every year, including 100 Percent PRIDE for Pride Month and 100 Percent BLACK for Black Music Month in Los Angeles.

Invest in a track record

This is what we built without a fully funded budget. Imagine what we can build with one.

The 100 Percenters Foundation operates on a grassroots budget, doing the work of a fully resourced institution. Every win on this page happened with a limited team, limited infrastructure and a founder who refused to stop.

We’re not asking you to bet on potential. We’re asking you to invest in a track record. If you believe music creators deserve an organization that fights for them, loudly and without apology, this is where your support belongs.
